About Can-b
Experienced filmmakers focused on clarity, credibility and impact
Can-b Film is led by Brighton-based director and producer Joel Roberts, with over two decades of experience spanning broadcast television, branded storytelling and purpose-driven campaigns. Since founding Can-b in 2010, Joel has worked with organisations, consultants and creative teams across the UK to produce films that communicate ideas clearly and engage audiences meaningfully. A growing part of our work focuses on environmental and sustainability communication. As organisations face increasing pressure to explain their policies, commitments and long-term plans, we help translate detailed thinking into engaging visual stories that audiences understand and trust. Our approach combines strategic thinking with experienced production techniques. Over the years our films have received international recognition, including awards at the World Travel Market in Berlin and the International Development Awards. Above all, our work is driven by clarity and collaboration, creating films that excite as well as educate the viewer.

The Approach
We don’t produce high-volume, fast-turnaround content without a clear purpose. Our work is shaped by context, audience and long-term impact. Typically we undertake corporate video production, environmental communication films, charity storytelling and social media content for organisations across Brighton, London and beyond.

Responsibility
We take a considered approach to environmental impact, ethical storytelling and responsible production practices across every project. From travel choices and equipment to crew size and production workflows, we aim to minimise unnecessary impact while maintaining the quality our clients expect.
While a small carbon footprint is inevitable in film production, we take practical steps wherever possible — using public transport where viable, favouring local crews, reducing equipment loads and adopting efficient production practices that limit waste.
Just as importantly, we believe responsibility also applies to the stories we help organisations tell. Our role is to communicate ideas clearly and honestly, ensuring messages are credible, balanced and grounded in real action.
